Wisconsin manufacturers have had more than their fair share of adversity in recent years. Job losses, outsourcing, layoffs, and plant closures have, unfortunately, been the buzzwords in this sector. But even in these tough times, there are those companies who emerge seemingly unaffected. Those who are creating jobs instead of eliminating them; those with sales on the rise not the decline; those who have discovered new markets abroad and are now going global. It is these achievers who are worthy of special recognition.
The Manufacturing Awards of Distinction program is designed to do just that. Now entering its 9th year, this event honors companies who have achieved excellence in manufacturing. Advance, the economic development arm of the Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce, coordinates the program throughout Northeast Wisconsin, and hosts an awards banquet each November.
Eligibility - The program is open to manufacturers in Brown, Door, Kewaunee, Marinette, Oconto and Shawano counties. Nominees must be manufacturing companies headquartered in the counties listed or with significant operations located there.
