Careers After Hours offers high school students and their parents an opportunity to tour and learn about careers in the local business community. Tours are conducted in February and March at area businesses that employ people in the youth apprenticeship industry areas:
auto collision,
auto technology/AYES,
business management,
cabinetry,
construction,
drafting & design/engineering,
drafting & design/mechanical design,
financial services,
health services,
lodging management,
logistics,
manufacturing/machining,
printing,
welding,
industrial equipment technology, and
information technology/networking.
School-to-work coordinators inform students of these tours that provide opportunities for youth to learn about different careers in the industry, talk to former youth apprentices and current employees, and see firsthand the skills of the workplace.
