The Golden Apple Academy is part of the Golden Apple Awards Program. All past recipients of the Golden Apple Awards are considered lifetime members of the Golden Apple Academy. Through a commitment to recognition, renewal, recruitment, and reform, the Golden Apple Academy advocates excellent and effective education.
The purpose of the Golden Apple Academy is to create and sustain a community of educators who work to advance the profession of teaching and deepen the learning of students.
Representatives of the Golden Apple Academy membership serve voluntary leadership terms on the Academy Steering Board. Membership of the Steering Board consists of eight Golden Apple recipients, a St. Norbert representative, UWGB representative, NWTC representative, and Partners in Education staff representative. The Steering Board and Golden Apple Academy members represent and promote education and the teaching profession, partner with community organizations for networking and professional development, and serve as resources and mentors for current and future teachers.
Partners in Education sponsors a winter Appreciation Academy for Academy members, educators who submit an application to the Golden Apple Awards Program, and Partners in Education volunteers. In addition, Golden Apple Academy members are invited to the UWGB Institute for Learning Partnership Fall Conference, the St. Norbert College Summer Conference, and other Partners in Education activities.
