Partners In Education
Yes, School Counts

Requesting school records in the hiring process is good for employers and good for students.  Educators and employers in the Greater Green Bay area, as well as in other communities across the nation, can work together to motivate students to attend and work harder in school for a better future workforce and for a better future for all.  By asking for school records in the hiring process, employers will be helping educators and parents demonstrate a meaningful connection between school, work, and community life.

Employers are being asked to request school records in their hiring process for full-time, part-time, work-based learning, and summer employees.  School records are academic transcripts, attendance records, and lifework skills (character, employability, lifelong learning) ratings.  This sends the message to area students that yes, school does count.

Employers can send a strong message to students that school records (academic grades, attendance, and lifework skills) are important by merely requiring applicants to submit (or authorize the employer to obtain) school records as part of the regular application process.  Partners in Education can help you build this request into your hiring process.

By requesting school records we will emphasize to students the importance of school and the qualities that will make them a good student, employee, and citizen.
