Why NEWCC?

NEWCC cites the following reasons a coalition is vital to Northeast Wisconsin:

  • The Fox Valley is the second largest marketplace in the state of Wisconsin, and should receive recognition as such by state officials.
  • The total population of 697,675 in Green Bay, Appleton-Oshkosh and Fond du Lac trails only behind the Milwaukee/Waukesha metro area at 1.5 million.
  • The civilian labor force in the Fox Valley totals 424,707, again behind only the Milwaukee/Waukesha area at 777,000.
  • According to the Department of Workforce Development, the weekly average earnings in the region are among the highest in Wisconsin.
  • Communities have more attributes to attract businesses collectively versus separately.

Together, the chambers expect to market the region, thereby boosting regional economic development.
