World trade is increasingly important to the overall health of our economy, as well as to the growth and competitiveness of U.S. companies.
- Nationally, exports account for 30 percent of our economy's total output, and it is estimated that 90 percent of future business growth will be derived from international trade.
- Worker productivity is up to 20 percent higher at exporting firms than at comparable non-exporting firms.
- Exporting businesses are 9 percent less likely to shut down than comparable non-exporting businesses.
- From 1993 to 1998, exports of the Green Bay area businesses increased 67.5 percnet, far exceeding domestic economic growth.
